Force

Force

Synopsis:
I am the shadow that haunts the night. I am a hunter, a protector…a force for good…I am Jonas Castillo.

For years I’ve existed on the edge of the dark, protecting innocents who can’t protect themselves. Until… her. Jessica JJ Jones. The bane of my existence. A bright light in the dark. The crack in my armor. A loud, argumentative beautiful crack in my armor.

But first, there’s a more immediate concern. JJ is running scared. And to protect her I might have to break the vow I made years ago.

Book 1 of The Force Duet. Book 2, Enforce, will release on 8/29/17

My Review:
Genre: Romance – Suspense
Stand Alone: No
Part of a Series: Yes – Book 1 of the Force Duet (feature characters from the Shameless triology)
POV: Jonas and JJ
Steam-Level: Toasty warm
4/5

I’ll be the first to admit that I absolutely HATE cliffhangers. However, I kinda figure that it would be when I started since the second book comes out about two weeks after this one. Also, (according to the page count) there are approximately 175 pages in this book which makes it a bit better since a lot of cliffhangers are fifty to one hundred pages and therefore half a story.

Force was written so well. It kept me on the edge of my seat and looking over my shoulder. While the topic can be difficult for some (domestic violence and its consequences), you don’t actually see physical violence. However the psychological terror of being stalked (or am I just losing my mind?) was intense and gripping. Once I started Force I could hardly put it down. It goes quickly and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book.

I received Force for free from the authors. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Favorite Quotes:

  1. The man was just so damned frustrating.  She wanted to hit hi, and she wanted to jump his bones.
  2. She might not know it yet but she was his just as surely as he was hers. Every breath he took belonged to her.
  3. What was it about this woman that made him lose all control?
  4. The woman could tempt a monk to sin with nothing more than a look.
