Review: Just a King by Tabatha Kiss

Synopsis:
Las Vegas. October 1985.
This is the story of how a King claimed his Queen…

When I was a recent college grad, I had a dying hotel dropped in my lap.
Between rolling up my sleeves and saving the family business, falling in love was the last thing on my mind.

Until she walked in.

Fiona Garland, Nevada’s girl next door. The daughter of Senator Richard Garland, my father’s life-long enemy.
To say she was untouchable would be an understatement.

Fiona, apparently, didn’t get that memo.
Their feud is their feud, she said. I don’t see why we can’t be friends…

But friends don’t look at each other the way we do. They don’t stay up all night talking and touching and…

Friends don’t fall in love. That’s what lovers do.

Do lovers risk everything to be with their Queen?

No.
That’s what Kings do.

Just a King is the secret love story you’ve been waiting for! Daddy and Mama Botsford’s story is Kindle-melting hot and guaranteed to keep you up all night long!

My Review:
Title: Just a King
Author: Tabatha Kiss
Format: Ebook
Genre: Romance – Forbidden/Secret Love
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: The Parents of the four heros in the Heartthrob Hotel series
POV: Kingston and Fiona
Steam Level: Slow burn to toasty
5/5

You don’t need to have read the Heartthrob Hotel series to enjoy this book but if you have you’ve met and loved these characters, especially Fiona. Just a King has all of the steam, sass and sweetness that I’ve come to love in Tabatha Kiss’s writing. Kingston and his queen Fiona are such characters and the world of the Botsford empire. If you haven’t read Tabatha Kiss then pick up Just a King and step into the Tabbiverse and enjoy the ride.

Favorite Quotes:

  • His lips taste like run and bad decisions, but my heart pounds with nothing but excuses.
  • I feel as if I’m about to fall apart, but I’m not afraid. I want Kingston to tear me in two and stitch me back together the way he likes.
  • They say staring it rude, but I challenge anyone-man or woman-to not be completely spellbound by her.
  • It’s not our responsibility to follow their dreams.
