Synopsis:
A fun, sweet, and sexy romance with a swoon-worthy rockstar and a single mom that will make your heart burst with happiness.
Rockstar Hudson Mitchell is over the glitz and spotlight of the music industry. Desperate for a break from the fast-paced life of fame, he retreats to the one place that has always been home.
Brooksville, California.
It’s the same place where Charlie has taken refuge, trying to build a life for herself and her young daughter. The quiet, small-town atmosphere and her new bakery venture are exactly what she needs to pick up the pieces of her shattered past.
As they spend more time together, neither of them is prepared for the effect Charlie has on Hudson, and how important she would become for his career.
My Review:

Standalone: yes
Part of a Series: Yes Book 1 of the Brooksville series
POV: Charlie
Steam Level: Slow simmer
4/5
Baking with a Rockstar was a super quick, super cute read. It was sweet, funny and emotional – giving the reader all the feels. The relationship between Charlie and Hudson plodded along at a steady pace. Charlie was a bit neurotic but when she reveals her story to Hudson (and the reader) you see why. Just when she was about to get to be annoying the author changed it up and moved the story along. Overall, Just a Rockstar was a fun read full of laughs and sighs and cuteness.
I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Favorite Quotes:
- There are two kinds of attraction. One is the instant one, that usually happens before you even know the person, and the other is the kind that grows with your feelings as you get to know a person better.
- There really aren’t a lot of things that are more heart-melting-and also incredibly sexy-than a man and a baby.
- Doubt is an ugly part of the brain that should stay hidden forever, but seldom does.
- I’ve chosen to turn my emotions off a few times over the years, especially after the whole Addy thing, when it just became too much. But then I learned something very important. Without the negative, I’d also miss the positive, and wouldn’t have be quiet tragic.
- This man, and everything he does, is exceptional and rare to me.
- Even though we all want the same thing, it’s the way we treat others to get to that goal that matters.
- Doing the right thing when it comes to love is tricky because it’s not the same for everyone. What’s good for one person isn’t necessarily good for the next. What’s going too fast for some people might be taking too long for others. Love has its own, very non-conforming way for all of us-it’s unique, just like every human is.
- Love is a gift we should enjoy as much as we possibly can when we’re given it. Take it as it is-one of the best and most beautiful things that can ever happen to you if you find the right person.
