Review: The Brutal Strike by Candice Wright

Review: The Brutal Strike by Candice Wright

Synopsis:

It should have been an in-and-out job
Find the girl and bring her home.
But we’re not the only ones who came for her
And when our rescue mission goes horribly wrong,
We find ourselves stranded and alone in the unforgiving jungle.
With death stalking our heels
Every day becomes a battle for survival
A battle not all of us will win.

They pulled me from the clutches of a madman
Risking their lives to keep me safe
Just a pretty girl with an odd name and strange eyes
They don’t know why I was captured or why I’m being hunted
They don’t know the things I done, the things I’ve seen
But it’s safer this way because if they knew the truth
They’d become collateral damage
Or worse, they might just hunt me too.

Authors note: The Brutal Strike is a ménage romance intended for 18+ readers.
Trigger warning: As with most of my books, The Brutal Strike contains some scenes that readers may find upsetting, so please proceed with caution.

My Review:

Title: The Brutal Strike
Author: Candice Wright
Format: ebook
Genre: Romantic suspense, paranormal, MFM
Standalone: For the most part – However the epilogue leads into the next story with different main characters
Part of a Series: Apex Tactical book 1
Steam Level; Steamy but not too explicit
POV: Zig, Salem. Oz
5/5

The Brutal Strike was right up my alley with being a romantic suspense with a touch of paranormal. Zig and Oz work at Apex Tactical, a group that does odd jobs and sometimes some for the government. When they are asked to rescue Salem from a drug cartel with very little info on Salem, they agree to do it, simply because they are drawn to her. Things go sideways and are too easy when they go into to rescue Salem. Crash landed in the jungle, no one know they’re alive. And, based on their last transmission, they don’t know if it’s safe to tell the team that they are alive. I enjoyed that this story is mainly the three of them together, surviving and forming a bond but it isn’t drawn out. This story is fast-paced and kept me reading whenever I could. I definitely want to check out more of Candice Wright’s books.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review,
