A Little Like Destiny

A Little Like Destiny

Synopsis:
She fell in love with a rock star first. How could she know his brother would be next?

Bestselling author Lisa Suzanne’s newest forbidden romance series pits a rock star against his business mogul brother.

Reserved and responsible Reese Brady refuses to miss her chance with bad boy rock star Mark Ashton. After one steamy night, she’s convinced the emotional connection they shared was just a figment of her imagination. After all, he’s a womanizer whose affairs are highly publicized.

Reese strives to leave that night behind her after a handsome business mogul asks her to dinner. Her relationship with Brian Fox quickly escalates into something meaningful, but Reese never expects the secret that emerges when he finally invites her to his penthouse.

She fell in love with a rock star the last time she was there. How could she know she’d fall in love with his brother next?

This is a three-book series that must be read in order:

  • A Little Like Destiny
  • Only Ever You
  • Clean Break

My Review:
Genre: Romance – Love Triangle, Rockstar
Stand Alone: no
Part of a Series: Yes book 1 of 3 in the A Little Like Destiny Series
POV: Reese
Steam Level: toasty
4/5

A Little Like Destiny is a quick read full of emotion and turmoil. It was a fast read, one that I whipped through. I’m reading this series back a$$wards in that I read book 2 before reading book 1. I’m not sure if/how that has colored my reading of this one but I stand more fully on one guy’s side rather than the other. I also can’t wait to see how it plays out. I didn’t care for Reese’s actions in either book, nor how she made excuses to herself rather than owning up to her actions. I found the guy I don’t to be manipulative and I didn’t trust him. His actions seem calculated and I wonder at his motivations. Overall the A Little Like Destiny Series and this book in particular are very well written, engaging and keeps you guessing and thinking. I’m excited to read book 3 and see how it all ends.

I received this book for free from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Favorite Quotes:

  • It’s hard to lose something you never really had, yet my emotions are tied up like I lost the love of my life.
  • “Safe and love don’t mix, babe.”
  • I feel like I’m playing a dangerous game of can and mouse. I’m stuck in the middle between two brothers who are very different people.
