Review: Deserving It by Angela Quarles

One hurricane. One hotel room. Two people who’d rather not share.

Missing the flirt gene, Claire has long ago given up on catching the eye of Irish hottie Conor and she refuses to change. If he doesn’t like her as is, then tough. No one need know, least of all Conor.

But when a hurricane strands them in Atlanta and they’re forced to shack up in the same hotel room for several days, things tend to get…exposed.

DESERVING IT is a steamy, standalone romantic comedy from RITA Winning and USA Today bestselling author Angela Quarles with a happy-ever-after and no cheating or cliffhangers.

My Review:
Genre: Romance – Sports
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Yes Book 3 in the Stolen Moments series)
POV: Claire and Conor
Steam level: Warm

Deserving It is the third book in the Stolen Moments series that feature the men who play in a hurling league. This one takes place after the playoffs in Atlanta and feature Conor and Claire who are stuck in Atlanta due to a hurricane. We’ve met both Claire and Conor in previous books and their interest in each other was hinted at but now, with Deserving It, we get to see it play out. Overall Deserving It was quite fun – seeing the softies inside their prickly personalities. Exploring some of the underlying issues that made them put their walls up to begin with. It’s smart and realistic – especially the feelings, actions, and thoughts of Claire and her issue. My only complaint is that I read it too fast. (A sign of a good book if you ask me). I also would have liked to see some sort of epilogue or them together back home. However, I did read an Advanced Copy of this book so it may have since been added.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Favorite Quotes:

  • If I was a chick with a fully paid subscription to the flirt manual, I’d know what to do.
  • I’ve never understood why calling someone a pussy is an insult. Pussies are fucking awesome.
