Dalton (Savage Kings MC Book 6)

Synopsis:
Ladies love me.

That’s not arrogance; it’s just the truth.

I give them a night they’ll never forget. One they’ll tell their friends about to make them jealous. A night their future husbands won’t be able to live up to.

Oh, yeah, I’m that good.

Tonight, though, I’m actually on a mission for our club, the Savage Kings MC. And I’m certain that the beautiful blonde ATF agent I’m getting ready to approach at the bar isn’t going to want to share our hot little hookup story for anyone. Ever.

My good looks are my secret weapon. No one ever suspects that a pretty, charismatic bastard like me is actually an unrepentant thief who was born to be an outlaw.

I’m a dangerous son of a bitch, but no one ever sees it coming.

The preferred reading order for the Savage Kings MC series is:

My Review:
Book 1: Dalton by Lane Hart
Genre: Romance – Romance, Opposites, MC, Bad Boys
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Yes Book 6 of the Savage Kings MC series
POV: Dalton and Peyton
Steam Level: Hot
4/5

Fun, sexy, and funny Dalton is a sexy story of an ATF agent and a MC member falling for each other despite the forces keeping them apart. I don’t read many MC book but this one was quite a lot of fun – both the mystery of Peyton’s investigation and how they both push each other’s buttons. Dalton was quite hot and I’d definitely read more of Lena Hart’s books, and this series.

Favorite Quotes:

  • No one, not even an ATF agent, will ever suspect that a pretty, charismatic bastard like myself is actually and unrepentant thrief who was born to be an outlaw.
  • Conducting a background checks on potential suitors seemed a little extreme.

Devious: A Dark Mafia Romance (Deviant Series Book 1)

When I meet Victoria, it’s not for the first time like she believes.

Victoria doesn’t remember me.

We met years ago when we were children. When we were innocent.

I have a plan in place. A simple one. Make her fall for me, so that I can get back at the man who destroyed my life and murdered my family.

I’ll use her. Take what I want. And not give a single f**k.

But the closer I get to Victoria, the more my old, locked away feelings for her start to resurface and bleed through my dark heart.

And when the moment comes to take my revenge, will I be able to pull the trigger if it means I could ultimately lose her forever?

**Note: Devious is Book 1 of the Deviant Series and is not intended to be read as a standalone. Victorious, Book 2 of the Deviant Series and the conclusion of the duet, is now available for pre-order on Amazon and will be published in March of 2019.**

My Review:
Book 2: Devious by Angela Snyder
Genre: Romance – Dark, enemies-to-lovers, second-chance, mafia
Standalone: Nope – ends on a cliffhanger
Part of a Series: Book 1 of 2 in the Deviant Series
POV: Victoria and Arlo/Damon
Steam Level: Warm
3.5/5

I appreciated the warning ahead of time that Devious was a cliffhanger I seriously hate cliffhangers but hate them more if it’s a surprise at the end. I debated about actually reading this book in the Wanted Anthology but decided to do so since I haven’t ever read Angela Snyder and the premise was intriguing. Overall Devious was okay. Written well with much build up. I’d like to find out what happens and how Damon will redeem himself.

Favorite Quote:

  • Running is peaceful to me, because my brain shuts down all the extra band thoughts and just focuses on the task at hand. Some might say I’m running from my past. Those people would probably be right.
  • It’s like I’m an addict, and she’s my preferred brand of heroin.

Hard Limit (Alpha Antihero Series Book 1)

Synopsis:
One f*cking breath.

That’s all I needed.

Air in my lungs so I could exhale through the pain.

My ribs broken, my face in the mud, one leg useless, I tried and failed to lift my head. Mosquitoes swarmed, and the sun dropped. I wasn’t gonna die out here. No f*cking way. I was Tarquin Scott, and that was a hard limit. One arm crawl after another, I needed to man up.

I wasn’t dead yet.

But then I heard her voice, angel soft and breathless, and I wondered if I’d been kidding myself. I didn’t have time to figure it out. A small hand landed on my back and I fisted my bloody knife.

I wasn’t gonna die tonight. But someone else was.

*HARD LIMIT is the first book in the Alpha Antihero Series.

The Alpha Antihero Series

HARD LIMIT
HARD JUSTICE
HARD SIN

My Review:
Book 3: Hard Limit by Sybil Bartel
Genre: Romance – Dark
Standalone: Nope
Part of a Series: Book 1 (of 3) of the Alpha Antihero series
POV: Tarquin and Shaila
Steam Level: Toasty
3/5

Did I mention that I hate cliffhangers? No? I hate cliffhangers! Hate them even more when I’m blindsided by said cliffhanger. You’ve been warned.

Now that that’s out of my system I found this book simultaneously intriguing and annoying. The premise was fun the but accents/stereotypes were over the top. I don’t even know what else to say about this book that won’t give anything away. On the fence about wanted to see what happens?

Favorite Quotes:

  • “You dumb shit, motherfucker.: Out of breath, I kicked him. “And, that’s for making me sweart. Real ladies don’t cuss like a sailor.”
  • My mouth, not one to be left out by my crazy, followed suit and I made the second-biggest mistake of my life.

Mac (Desert Sinners MC Book 1)

Synopsis:
From the moment I saw Kate, I wanted her, and for more than just a quick turn in the sheets. Except, she’s my club president’s newfound daughter and completely off-limits.

Loyalty and trust are two of the most important values of the Desert Sinners. As an officer and one of Viking’s most reliable members, falling for the girl I was asked to protect could cause more than just problems within the club.

As simmering tensions with a rival club grow to a boil, and problems from Kate’s past come back to haunt her, my allegiance to the club and the desires of my heart are destined to collide.

I only hope I won’t lose everything in the destruction.

***Mac was originally published as part of USAT best-selling Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology. No changes to the story have been made.***

My Review:
Book 4: Mac by Rachel Lyn Adams
Genre: Romance, suspense
Standalone: Mostly – Kat and Mac’s story is complete but the larger mystery is unfinished
Part of a Series: Yes: Book 1 of the Desert Sinners MC
POV: Kate and Mac
Steam Level: Toasty
4/5

Mac is the first book I’ve read by Rachel Lyn Adams. It was a fun, quick read. I’d definitely read more of her books and this series. I liked the guys and the world that Adams built. This was definitely a great addition to this anthology.

Claiming Chaos was previously released as part of the USA TODAY Best-Seller, Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology..

My Review:
Book 5: Claiming Chaos by Kim Bailey
NR-DNF

I stopped reading this book about a chapter and a half in (or two and a half). I couldn’t get into the story. Maybe because I knew it was a cliffhanger, maybe not. I’m not sure I just know that I couldn’t get into it. The portion I did read was written well.

Favorite Quote:

  • Kids were never on my hit list–I was a killer for hire, not a fucking psychopath. Not yet, anyway.

Book 6: Creeker by Laramie Briscoe
My Review
Genre: Romance – MC, Forbidden
Standalone: No. This is the prequel to an upcoming book
Part of a Series: Yes Prequel to the upcoming Sacrifice
POV: Hawk and Banner
Steam Level: Slow Burn
4/5

I started this book knowing it’s a prequel. However I’ve heard good things about Laramie Briscoe so decided to give it a chance. I’m glad I did and think I’ve found another author to follow. Creeker sucked me in from the start. I whipped through this story and will be looking for Sacrifice.

Road to Kaytlyn

Synopsis:
It takes a kidnapping to bring two separated lovers together, but can they survive the journey through Hell?

Kaytlyn Esposito has lived under her father’s thumb all her life, playing the dutiful daughter and pawn more times than she can remember. But when he sells her to save himself that’s where she draws the line. It’s time to remove his hold on her and to move on with her life.

Torn apart by Jax’s need to save her, can they come together again and find something that makes everything worth fighting for? Their journey through Hell will be hot but love must find a way to prevail.

My Review:
Book 7: Road to Kaytlyn by Marissa Dobson
Genre: Romance: Second chance, dark, bodyguard, mafia
Standalone: Yea
Part of a Series: I don’t think so
POV: Kaytlyn and Jax
Steam Level: Toasty
4/5

Road to Kaytlyn was a quick novella. It was a fun addition to this anthology with another author I haven’t read before. I love second chance romance and this one was quite fun. My only complaint is that the point of conflict was glossed over and didn’t feel satisfying. But overall quite fun and I can see a book for her cousin (if there isn’t already one).

Favorite Quotes:

  • Her safety was the one thing that matter to him. Her happiness was a close second buy in this case protecting her would override all else.
  • “Fuck baby, you’re going to be the death of me.”…”I want to be your life. Not your death.”
  • Sometimes you have to travel through hell in order to find your piece of heaven.

Hood Rat

Synopsis:
USA Today Bestselling Author Geri Glenn returns with an unforgettable story of hardship, strength, determination and love in the most unlikely of places.

A rich girl trying to save the world. A hood rat living by a moral code of his own creation.

Georgia knew the south side was going to be rough, but she never dreamed she’d come up against anyone quite like Tripp. When Tripp’s kid brother gets caught up with a local street gang, the two of them have no choice but to set aside their differences and work together.

You’ve read the novella in the Wanted Anthology, but Hood Rat is back and better than ever. Now a full length novel! Prepare yourself to fall in love with Tripp and Georgia all over again.

My Review:
Book 8: Hood Rat by Geri Glenn
Genre: Romance – opposites
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: No but their story is being expanded into a full-length novel later
POV: Georgia and Tripp
Steam Level: Slow burn
4.5/5

I’ll be honest – this story surprised me. I judged it by its name and almost skipped it. Luckily I’m a bit OCD and had to try it before skipping. I’m glad I did because Hood Rat was good. A great addition to this anthology and the subgenre of Opposites and/or good girl/bad boy rich girl/poor boy and even single-father since Tripp is raising his brothers and sisters.

Book 9: Flynn by Amanda Heartley
My Review:
Genre: Romance, MC
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: No
POV: Flynn and Jo
Steam Level: Slow Burn to toasty
4/5

Flynn was a good addition to this anthology. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away but I will say that it was a fun ride and I adore Flynn’s soft inside.

Favorite Quotes:

  • There’s something about trauma – time really doesn’t heal anything.
  • Detachment is an art…and I’m good at it.

Desperate Beginnings (Ravens Ruin MC Book 1)

Sysnopsis:
**Desperate Beginnings is the prequel to the Ravens Ruin MC Series, helping to explain why the club is the way is. It’s not much of a romance, but a segue into the romantic suspense series.**

I don’t realize I’m the monster in this story until the rope is already snug around my neck.

Every order, every move, every attempt to make things better only dig my grave a little deeper.

Until this point in my life, I’d fought, killed, and bled to build my club, to prove to my son what kind of man was needed to lead Ravens Ruin MC.

Who could’ve predicted that he’d be a bigger monster than I ever dreamed?

My Review:
Book 10: Desperate Beginnings by Marie James
A Ravens Ruin Prequel
NR-DNF

I started reading this book last night before I started falling asleep. I got to chapter four before stopping. I liked that the author warned us, the readers, that it wasn’t a romance story and that the characters were a$$h013s. She wasn’t lying. I woke up in middle of the night and I realized how much I didn’t enjoy the three Chase I read, not did I want to continue reading this story in order to try to get back to sleep, not did I want to finish the story. I saw no redeeming qualities and found the main character quite stupid. I’m glad he was killed off in the very beginning. Lol Sorry. I don’t mind reading about jerks but they at least need to be compelling ones.

Book 11: Absolution by Kari Lake
My Review:
Genre: Romance – Dark, Suspense
Standalone: Mostly The story ends at a good point but definitely more to the story
Part of a Series: Book 1?
POV: Damon and Ivy
Steam Level: Hot
5/5

Not for the faint of heart, Absolution by Kari Hart is sexy, violent and funny. Father Damon is wrestling with his spirituality and is pushed over the edge by a confession The conflict between past and present, good and evil is well done. Definitely an author I’d read again

Favorite Quotes:

  • Sex can be a powerful and manipulative tool, if properly wielded.
  • Opportunity can be a surprising little bitch who shows us shows up when you least expect it.
  • Killing a person isn’t supposed to feel like doing the world a favor, an yet, that’s exactly what I feel.
  • The most wonderful things in life are blessings we don’t see coming.

Book 12: Rebel Ink by Daphne Loveling A Lords of Carnage MC Novella
My Review:
Genre: Romance, suspense, MC
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Yes a novella in the Lords of Carnage MC
POV: Six and Bullet
Steam Level: Quite Toasty
5/5

I’ve heard of but have never read Daphne Loveling. If Rebel Ink is any indication then I’d definitely enjoy her book. Rebel Ink was a great mix of suspense and steam. I loved the banter between Bullet and Six. This was quite a fun read.

Walking the Crossroad: Crossroad Soldiers MC

Synopsis:
USA Today’s Best Selling Author brings you a new MC. This is the Prequel to the upcoming series Crossroad Soldiers MC.
Originally part of USA Today’s best selling anthology – Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology

Jasper

When I got out of the military I was at a crossroads in my life. But like any good soldier who longed for brotherhood, I started an MC with one of my closest friends, who’d also been one of my brothers in the special forces. It was hard for us to adapt and we longed for the bonds that we created. That’s when the Crossroad Soldiers was formed. That was twenty-years ago. Yeah, we’re not considered good men because of the dealings we have. But, we do have our boundaries and morals. I also married my high school sweetheart, and together we formed a family that is impenetrable. She is the love of my life, my one weakness in life other than our children.

Miracle

When my man Jasper left for the service, I never imagined he’d be changed to the degree he was when he returned. I knew at first glance that he was missing something. When he came to me about the idea of the MC, I knew that I could either stand by him and support him, or lose him forever. That wasn’t something I was willing to do. He was and is the love of my life. With me by his side, we formed a different type of family. One who would take a bullet for you and never ask for an apology for the outcome. As an old lady, we are prepared for the possibility that once our man walks out that door it may be the last time he’s held us in his arms or placed his lips upon ours. Is it a perfect relationship? No, but what fun would that be?

There is a new enemy in town. Can they come out of this unscathed? Or will their family and MC forever be changed?

Meant for readers over the age of 18

My Review:
Book 13: Walking the Crossroads by Liberty Parker

Genre: Romance – Suspense, mafia, bodyguard, military SEAL
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: No

This was my first Rosie Sinclair book and I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. While a good, emotional story it felt rushed and was a bit of a letdown.
