Review: Miss by Harloe Rae

Review: Miss by Harloe Rae

Synopsis:
“Harloe Rae nails the gut-wrenching, bittersweet emotion of a second-chance love story with MISS and delivers a tender, steamy and sigh-worthy romance.” — Mary, USA Today HEA

The boy she loved is gone. The man I’ve become doesn’t deserve her.

Delilah Sage was my comfort within all the pain.
Offering open arms when I needed an escape.
The only one trusted to be there for me.
But our dreams were doomed from the start.
And I left her clinging to false hope.

Regret has plagued me for years.
The memories of Delilah refuse to fade.
Each second of every day, I want to claim her as mine.
But I won’t ruin her life.
And she’s better off without me.

A job brings me back to our small town.
The plan is to keep my distance.
My scars are mine alone.
Dredging up the past will cut deeper than before.
But Delilah has always been my weakness.
And resisting her isn’t an option.

After all, nothing quite compares to first love.

My Review:
Genre: Romance – Second Chance
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Yes – Book 2 of the #BitterSweetHeat Series The couple from Book 1 (Raven and Trey from Gent) are secondary characters, you don’t need to read their story to enjoy Miss. (Although I recommend you do because Harloe Rae is a great author)
POV: Delilah and Zeke
Steam Level: Slow burn to toasty
4/5

I love this series and the characters within. Miss features Delilah and Zeke. We met D in Gent and in Miss we get to know her more. Miss has plenty of laugh out loud moments along with several that rip your heart out. No one does a tortured hero like Harloe Rae. Zeke is strong on the outside but a mess on the inside. You feel his pain. Miss is a roller coaster of emotion and sucks you in, throws you through several loops, wrecks you, and then spits you out whole again. I truly hope that there will be more books in this series (I’m thinking one for Addison, one for Ryan and one for Jack. – Hint, hint Harloe Rae).

Favorite Quotes:

“Must you be so crass?” “I think by now this type of language is expected from me.”

“Can I at least have another spoon?”…”Why?” “So you can share this we me. Let’s clean up our broken mess together.”

“You are the air I breath…Survival isn’t possible without you.”

I’ll gladly hand in my man card to have her look at me like this.

“How is it possible to love a person this much?” “Because we were made for each other?”

“You’re being so sweet.”…”I bottled up the soft side for too long. Now it’s pouring out.”…”I don’t mind the overflow.”

He’s a master craftsman with those talented hands, and I’m the current project.
