A new sexy romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Angela Quarles–500-mile road trip! Mission? Get over the guy you kinda-sorta hooked up with. Problem? He’s your new road-trip companion.
To Play…So, yeah. Here’s me heading out on this stupid soul-searching road trip to get over The Turd, and here he is leaning against my car, all easy charm, batting his ridiculously long eyelashes, and asking for a ride. Explaining why he can’t come along would be admitting my struggle to purge him from my thoughts. The universe is laughing at me. I can’t fall for a short-term playboy. But tell that to my body, which up and goes hey there as soon as his pheromones get within sniffing distance.
Or Not to Play…My reputation as a player isn’t just smoke and mirrors. I play the field. Constantly. No strings sex? Perfect. But ever since a certain shy book nerd slipped under my skin, I haven’t wanted anyone but her. The kicker? She blew me off the next morning. Now that I’m stranded and she’s my only ride, maybe I can find out why our awesome night together turned into her ghosting me.
Genre: Romance – Sports
Part of a Series: – Yes – Book 2 in the Stolen Moments series
POV: Jane and Aiden
Steam Level: Toasty
Risking It was a perfect mix of humor, steam, and introspection. Both Jane and Aiden have been hurt in the past and are scarily attracted to each other. But Jane ghosted Aiden and he wants to know why. Both want to get over the other before anything even started. I love Angela Quarles’ use of the road trip as a journey, both literally and metaphorically. The quirky sites they visit throughout the trip are hilarious. The lessons learned are subtle and poignant. Overall a very well written story that was fun to read. If you like quirky, engaging stories that burn up your kindle then Risking It is for you. I cannot wait to see more of Aiden and Jane in future Stolen Moments books.
I received this book for free from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I swear to God my body gets all irrational when in his vicinity. As if there’s an invisible force that works on me when I get in range.
