Review: Cowboy Come Home by Sinclair Jayne
Category : Reviews
Rodeo cowboy Boone Telford feels like he’s running out of time to make his mark. By his age, his father was an All-Around-Cowboy multiple times and his siblings are all highly accomplished in their fields. Boone vows that this is his year to stand out and finally be a champion as long as he remains focused, but a beautiful masseuse he met on a quick detour to the beach has given him a glimpse of a happy life that doesn’t involve buckles or prize money. Is loving Piper and settling down on his family’s Montana ranch giving up his dreams and destiny? When he pulls into his home town of Marietta, he knows it’s now or never, and he probably needs to let Piper go.
Masseuse Piper Wiley is doing the one thing she swore she never would–following a man who’s chasing his career from town to town. The daughter of an Army colonel, Piper’s lived all over the world, but has always craved permanence and belonging. Meeting Boone was unexpected and powerful. Love at first sight. But can she convince her cowboy to finally come home and make his mark with her?
Genre: Romance – Western, Rodeo
Part of a Series: Yes Book 3 of 5 in the 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo
POV: Boone and Piper
Steam Level: Toasty
While super cute and a fun read I found myself getting a little bored and irritated with the internal, turned external, drama between Boone and Piper. I found myself putting this book down, doing something else and then coming back to it. I liked the story and the characters, especially the secondary ones. I liked that Boone was this sensitive cowboy and that Piper was independent and together they were hot but I think my main issue was the lack of communication. – which is what this entire book was built around. I’ve heard good things about Sinclair Jayne so I will definitely try more of her books but Cowboy Come Home fell a little flat for me. If you like sexy, sensitive cowboys who can rope your heart then give Cowboy Come Home a chance.
I received an advanced copy of this book This is me honest and voluntary review.
- “I’m pancaking you”…”I like all your weight on me, I feel grounded.” “I’m supposed to make you feel like you can fly.”
- How can you achieve something if you don’t know what it is.
- If you are going to hold yourself to a standard of accomplishment, you need to know what it is. You can’t achieve something you can’t articulate. How can you know when you’ve climbed your peak, if you can’t see it?
- Yes or no, and I should warn you that I don’t think I can accept no and will does everything in my power to change your mind.
