Synopsis:
The Touch Series, #1Nicholas Ford, a successful club owner in his mid-thirties, decided a while back to deny his true nature in order to follow his family’s advice and settle down. The day before he is to attend his girlfriend’s sister’s wedding, he makes an appearance at his BDSM club and runs into Kayla, a bubbly Little Girl who captures his undivided attention.
Look but don’t touch, Nicholas tells himself.
What he doesn’t know is that Kayla’s in town to go to her cousin’s wedding…
The first installation of The Touch Series is a novelette with a word count of about 15 000. Characters portrayed are 18 or older. DD/lg.
My Review:
Genre: Romance – DDlg
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Yes Book 1 in the Touch series
POV: Nicholas
Steam Level: Hot
3/5
I listened to this book on the Read Me Romance podcast. I have a mixed opinion on this one. The writing was well done, the world-building immersive. While not my kink I can see that people would appreciate this story. My main issue is with Nicholas’s vanilla relationship and the loose breakup. This story felt like cheating to me, even though both characters knew that the relationship was basically over. I’ll probably check out some of Cara Dee’s other books since I liked the writing style.
