Review: Nasty Bet by Mika Lane

Review: Nasty Bet by Mika Lane

Synopsis:
The things they made me do…
I’m not perfect. In fact, I might have a little problem.
And it might involve breaking the law.
When mob boss Leo Borroni and his buddies catch me in the act, well, I’m pretty much screwed.
They take bets on how far I’ll go to get out of the mess I’m in.
And the winner?
Looks like he gets…
ME.

This hot, over-the-top romance includes sexy mafia hitmen with a penchant for pursuing and protecting the women who give them a run for their money. If you love outrageously naughty stories as a way to indulge your not-so-secret bad girl side, this is for you.

>>Please note: books in this series can be read in any order. Enjoy!<<
1) Dirty Game
2) Nasty Bet
3) Filthy Deal

My Review:
Title: Nasty Bet
Author: Mike Lane
Format: Ebook
Genre: Dark Romance, Enemies to Lovers, Mafia Romance
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Book 2 of The Anit-Hero Chronicles
POV: Leo and Maray
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy
4/5

Nasty Bet is the second book in The Anti-Hero Chronicles and is standalone. However, if you do read book 1 Dirty Game you’ve already met Leo. Nasty Bet takes place across the country in New York and Leo only briefly talks to Luca (MC from Dirty Game) and you get a glimpse of Luca and Echo’s HEA. Nasty Bet is a quick read that I really liked and flew through. However, I”m giving it four stars rather than five because I wanted more of Leo and Maray’s HEA. The ending didn’t really seem like an ending but the beginning of their future. I cannot wait to see who is next in The Anti-Hero Chronicles.

I received this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Favorite Quotes:

  • I’d never played by the rules before. Wasn’t about to start soon.
  • God I wish I could have smack the handsome off it.
  • People had to learn shit on their own. Make their own mistakes. Just ask me.
  • Why did I love his touch so much? He was a freaking thug. A nicely dressed and extremely handsome one, but still a thug. I mean, look was he forcing me to do.
  • Maray was pressed against me, and while we were generally up to no good, all was right in the world.
  • God, I was in love. I mean, like, in like.
  • He gave me his devilish half-smile that made me both want to tear my clothes off and go running in the opposite direction.
  • We all make mistakes. It’s how you get up on the other side of them that matters.
