Review: Wrong For You by Harloe Rae

Synopsis:

USA Today & Amazon Top 5 best-selling author Harloe Rae delivers an unputdownable romance packed with heart, emotion, and steam. Meet Jacob Evans—a broody single dad/mechanic—while he banters with Harper Wilson—a super bubbly dance instructor/bartender determined to move on from the past—on their road to happily ever after.

I used to believe Jacob Evans could be mine.
That was before he delivered unforgivable news rather than sweeping me off my feet.
Not that I can fault his choice.
He got the sweetest little girl out of the deal.

I took the heartbreak as a learning experience and moved on for the better.
Jake did the opposite—allowing bitterness to fill the void.
Only his daughter can pull him from the broody gloom.
Those moments are my favorite.

Not that it matters.
Jake isn’t anything to me other than a reminder of what almost was.

Besides, we couldn’t be more wrong for each other.
I’ve come to accept that.
But as it turns out, Jake hasn’t.

Standalone: yes
Part of a Series: I don’t think officially, but this small town has bee a setting for a few other of her books

5/5

I was so excited to start this book and then blew right through it, I love the sass of the characters, their intelligence and their unwillingness to take other’s abuse. Harper and Jake’s chemistry is explosive and I love Jake’s little girl. The kids in Harloe Rae’s books are always awesome and Wrong For You continues being awesome. Wrong For You was swoony, sweet and steamy. I can’t wait for Harloe Rae’s next books. She’s one of my favorite authors and Wrong For You did not disappoint.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Favorite Quotes:

  • “You’re all I think about…This is how it should be between us, how it’s always meant to be” No, we’re wrong for each other.” “Maybe that’s what makes us right.”
  • “I’ll never regret having that little girl. Not for a second. But you know I do regret?” “What” “Not fighting for you.”
  • “Is there room in here for me?” Jake rests his hand over mine where I can feel his heart beating an erratic rhythm. “It’s yours, but you have to share with Syd. And any other babies we’re blessed with.”
